Looking through what I've taken away from NLGL program, and my own reflection in practice on practice, I think students need to be engaged by the combination of instructional technology, global learning and reaching out the community. With the combination of these three aspects at the same time, students learn effectively, learn with fun and they learn what they can use.
I believe all of these three aspects do not motivate students. They are giving my Chinese students great opportunities to efficiently and effectively participate in motivating activities which help them stay motivated and through those motivating activities, they practice Chinese especially listening and speaking Chinese.
